Legal Advice for FreePlain-English legal information

Accessibility Statement

Legal information should be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. Here's what we're doing about it.

Our commitment

Legal Advice for Free is committed to making this site usable by people with disabilities. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard most commonly used to measure web accessibility.

What we do

  • Use semantic HTML so screen readers and other assistive technology can correctly interpret headings, lists, and page structure
  • Maintain sufficient color contrast between text and background throughout the site
  • Ensure the site is navigable by keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse
  • Write link text that describes its destination, rather than generic text like “click here”
  • Keep page layouts responsive so content remains usable at different zoom levels and screen sizes

Known limitations

Accessibility work is ongoing. We are aware that some older pages and third-party embeds (such as external map or map-like widgets, where used) may not fully meet the standard above yet. If you encounter a barrier anywhere on the site, please tell us using the contact information below — specific reports from real users are the most useful way for us to find and fix problems.

Reporting an issue

If you have trouble accessing any part of this site because of a disability, contact us through our contact page. Please include the page URL and a description of the problem you encountered, along with the browser and assistive technology you were using if applicable. We will do our best to address the issue and respond to you.

Changes to this statement

We will update this page as our accessibility practices and conformance improve.
