Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Legal Advice for Free collects from visitors, how it's used, and what choices you have.

What we collect

Legal Advice for Free is a publisher of legal information, not a service that requires an account. We do not ask visitors to register, and we do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, case numbers, or other sensitive identifiers through normal use of the site.

We do collect a limited amount of information automatically:

  • Analytics data: aggregated page-view counts and basic context like which page was viewed, the referring site, and general device or browser type. We collect this through Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not store your IP address or build a persistent identifier for you. The numbers are reported in aggregate, so we cannot single out or follow an individual visitor.
  • Server logs: standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent) generated by our hosting provider as part of normal operation.
  • Information you send us directly: if you email us through our contact page, we receive whatever you include in that message.

What we don't do

We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not run third-party advertising networks that track you across other sites, and we do not share analytics data with data brokers.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. Our analytics are cookieless, and we do not set cookies to identify you or follow you across other websites. You can read this site with cookies blocked in your browser without any loss of functionality.

How we use this information

We use the data described above to understand which content is useful, find pages that need updating, diagnose technical problems, and generally run and improve the site. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or to make decisions about individual visitors.

Third-party links

This site links to government agencies, state bar associations, legal aid organizations, and other outside resources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Review the privacy policy of any site you visit through a link on this page.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data requests

If you want to know what information we hold about you, or want us to delete information you have sent us directly (for example, a contact form message), email us through our contact page and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as our practices change. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
